From Banking to Agribusiness: Read the Story of Gloria Chukwuka, The Young Farmer Behind Porkerz Nigeria

Gloria Chukwuka is a Nigerian farmer who earned a B.Sc in Biological Sciences and an MBA (Entrepreneurship).

Shortly after serving her fatherland, Gloria started working in the bank. Six years into the job, she discovered this void inside of her that she started wanting more than following some set of rules and procedures. She got tired of seeing people being thrown out of job, confused and unprepared. The whole workplace drama changed her initial plan of doing a white-collar job which pushed her to look for a way to fill that void.

During this period, she made up her mind to start her own business that will require minimal supervision while she’s still employed. And this led into the birth of Come-forth field enterprise in 2017, an agribusiness company and the owner of the trademark Porkerz Nigeria.

Come-forth field is a mother company which is into raising of crops and pigs.

Porkerz branched out to handle the demand for a presentable way of offering pork to her consumers. We feed our pigs in a clean hygienic environment with balanced feed ration which makes them produce flesh and not accumulate fat, she said.

Our Pork is lean (minimal fat) and available as fresh, frozen, grilled, peppered and smoked pork to meet the varying needs of our customers, she said.
